Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (IT)

This Information Technology major allows you to define your IT career niche, create paths for promotion, or ramp up your area of tech expertise in agile/project management, cybersecurity, networking, or software development and support. Our grads work at Nationwide Insurance, Cintas, Christ Hospital, Mitsubishi Electric, SentriLock, and more.

The Department of Computer and Information Technology (CIT) is located exclusively on the regional campuses of Miami University in  Hamilton, Middletown, and West Chester.

The CIT faculty are industry-experienced teachers committed to the success of students and to keeping pace with ever-changing technology.

Open admission policy

Miami's CIT Program is available exclusively at the regional campuses and enjoy an open admission policy. Students who graduated from high school, earned a GED or present credentials demonstrating equivalent levels of academic achievement (home schooled or other alternative educational program) are eligible to attend. There are no additional requirements to enroll as a CIT Major.

Funding Your STEM Journey

STEM Scholars provides scholarships of up to $5,000 a year and creates a customized pathway experience for Miami University students to advance from an associate to a bachelor’s degree and on to a master’s degree.
