Regional Campus Scholarships
REGIONAL CAMPUS scholarship awards are made possible through the generous support of donors to Miami University. These awards vary from $100 to $5,000. Awards are made at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee based on the availability of funds.
Graduate students and those who have already attained a bachelor’s degree are not eligible for these scholarships.
Applicants must be admitted to be considered for a Miami Hamilton or Miami Middletown scholarship. Scholarship recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA for renewable Merit Scholarships. The deadline for applying for scholarships is March 15, 2015 for the 2015-2016 academic year.
In order to be considered for a scholarship, please complete these necessary steps:
Apply for admission to either Miami Hamilton or Miami Middletown.
Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if you want to be considered
for need-based awards. Go to www.fafsa.gov and complete it by Feb. 15 (if freshman) or
March 15 (for returning students).

Strong letters have specific examples of a student’s strengths. Give the recommender several weeks notice to write the letter.
Letters of recommendation postmarked by March 15 will be accepted. (Email recommendations from, for example, an instructor, are also acceptable to one of the following email addresses: BerninJM@MiamiOH.edu (Miami Hamilton students), or burtonsv@MiamiOH.edu (Miami Middletown students).

Explain any awards you earned. Include dates of involvement for each activity listed. Please provide a brief explanation if you had extenuating circumstances that significantly impact your time and/or limit your involvement. Please list the activities separate from the writing prompts.
- Complete the following two writing prompts:
1) Essay (450-550 words typed): Describe a time when you took on the role of a leader or displayed leadership and explain what you learned from this experience.
2) A separate paragraph explaining the value of an education from Miami University and how your education will benefit you and/or others.
