The Voice of America Learning Center is a 23,000 square foot instructional facility with parking for 235 vehicles located at the corner of Cox Road and VOA Park Drive in West Chester, Ohio.
The building faces east, toward open prairie area of Butler County’s VOA Park. The entrance to the Center is located off VOA Park Drive.
The centerpiece of the Learning Center is a 152-seat auditorium that also serves as a lecture hall. Seating at tables is available for 60 persons in the lower area of the auditorium, and the theatre-style seats on the upper tier are equipped with tablet arms.
Instructional facilities include a tiered 40-seat classroom equipped for videoconferencing, two additional 40-seat classrooms, two 24-seat classrooms, a 12-station computer classroom, and a seminar/conference room that can accommodate 16 persons.
Each classroom and the auditorium is equipped with an instructor/speaker station that includes a built-in computer, DVD/VCR playback deck, document camera, and ceiling mounted projector. Dry erase white boards are available on two walls of each classroom, and portable white boards are available in the auditorium.
Other features include an 8-station open access computer lab, two small group meeting rooms for 5-7 persons, a faculty workroom, and a vending/lounge area.
Wireless connectivity to Miami’s network is available throughout the building and on the east and west plaza areas. The Center is connected to Miami University through the Butler County high speed fiber optic network.
As an instructional facility, the VOA Learning Center is available for activities such as professional association meetings and educational programs, public ceremonies, forums, and educational presentations.
Facility schedule priority is given to Miami credit and non-credit classes and workshops, and other educational activities sponsored or hosted by Miami University.
